Organiser: Strategic Management (STR) Division of the Academy of Management, sponsored by the STR Membership Engagement Committee; organised by Daniel Albert. Published 18 July 2026. Speaker(s): Vivianna He (University College London), Felipe Csaszar (University of Michigan), Gwendolyn Lee (Purdue University) and Phanish Puranam (INSEAD).

In this hour-long virtual panel, four strategy scholars discuss how generative AI can serve as a research tool for strategic management, and how it is opening new avenues for generating and advancing research opportunities in the field. The conversation is aimed both at researchers curious about integrating AI into their own work and at those who want to hear how leading scholars see the future of strategy scholarship.

For management and business researchers, the recording is a useful complement to the broader Academy of Management discussion already in this collection: it brings the question down to one discipline, where theory building, data collection and the framing of research questions are all being reshaped by large language models.
